What We Do
Our projects:
At Refugee Relief Initiative, we design and implement programs that address the root causes of vulnerability while building long-term resilience.
Are you an IDP, a refugee, or an asylum seeker? Are you willing to learn a skill that will help you acquire a job or become self employed? Think no further. Click the skill button below and register for our next class. Certifications will be provided at the end of each training.
We make sure that every asylum seeker, refugee, and IDP is self reliant. We achieve this through our Connect | Educate | Empower programs across the nation.
A self reliant POC is of great value to the nation. Reasons we strive to make that happen to every asylum seeker, refugee, and IDP.
We’re happy that our strategies have been a huge win.
Empowering 500 POCs annually. Register for the TEA Program here. All programs are FREE. Certifications will be awarded at the end of each successful training. Join the team and pitch your idea to our potential selectors.
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Providing access to education, school supplies, and academic support. It has always been our pleasure to make sure that every asylum seeker, refugee, and IDP gains education. We currently have a great number of them on scholarships at different levels of education.
HEALTH CARE PROGRAM
Promoting physical, mental, and social health through awareness and support. We all know how asylum seekers, refugees, and IDPs are open to all sorts of environmental temptations. Providing healthcare, educating and counselling has always be our key way out.
AGRICULTURE PROGRAM
Empowering refugees through farming and sustainable income generation. Training and empowering Persons Of Concern (POCs – Asylum Seekers, Refugees, and IDPs) has always been a way out for us. We rent lands, or buy the lands off from the owners, we give it to our trained POCs. We further give them all what it takes to make the land productive. The proceeds from the land are their personal properties. They keep 100% of the proceeds.
From time to time, our team do a follow up to make sure that the POCs are on track.
LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
Raising future leaders within refugee communities. We don’t only stop at skilling levels or empowerment levels or housing levels etc. We organizing leadership educational programs for every asylum seeker, refugee, and IDPs.
It isn’t enough to give them bread. It isn’t enough to teach or train them on how to bake bread. Giving them bread, training them on how to bake the bread and concluding on how to manage and lead a bakery can be a game changer for them.
GBV AWARENESS PROGRAM
Promoting safety, dignity, and human rights. Creating Gender Base Violence awareness among asylum seekers, refugees, and IDPs has always been our concern. Letting them know the ins and outs of it has been of great help as gender base violation had become a rotting among POCs. We urge them to become champions of gender base protectors.
HOUSING PROGRAM
Providing shelter solutions for vulnerable individuals. A whole lot of asylum seekers, refugees, IDPs are stranded. A lot of them are seen under bridges and unhealthy locations in search for shelter. We will stop at nothing until each of them gets a home. We go as far as renting houses for them.
BUSINESS EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM
Supporting entrepreneurship and financial independence. We’re committed to creating pathways to self-sufficiency through Business Empowerment Programs. Every refugee deserves an opportunity that can help him or her to unlock every delay through business building. We’re committed to seeing every asylum seeker, refugee, and IDPs self reliant.
JOB LINKING PROGRAM
Acquiring a job in Nigeria as a Nigerian hasn’t been easy as every job comes with a guarantor form. Who then will stand as a guarantor to asylum seekers, refugees, and IDPs? We do not only link them up with jobs, we equally stand in the gab as their guarantor, making sure that they win the job.
SKILLS ACQUISITION PROGRAM
Providing vocational training with startup support for self-reliance. Training the boy and girl child, even the parents and nonparents has been a huge way out for POCs.
We organize different training skills and urge them to participate. Certifications are been issued to the successful candidates with seed capital to startup. This helps them to be financially free and morally free. This has proven to be very effective.
From time to time, our team do a follow up to make sure that the POCs are on track.
FEEDING & CLOTHING PROGRAM
Thousands of asylum seekers, refugees and IDPs go without a meal each day. And the amount of unhealthy diets among POCs is alarming.
In their words “We just want our stomach full. Does it really matter if the food is healthy or not? The stomach doesn’t know that. All the stomach needs is food.” says Richard Enoh.
We create reach out programs to make sure that they have balanced diets.
